For a superior lawn, it's essential to follow precise seeding guidelines.

Creating a New Lawn

  1. Plow the soil to a depth of 20 to 30 centimeters.

  2. Remove large stones and weeds by hand.

  3. If the soil quality is poor or uneven, add topsoil to improve it.

  4. Level the ground with a rake to create an even seedbed.

  5. We suggest applying our Pre-Seed Fertilizer at this stage.

  6. If you decide to use fertilizer, delay the seeding process by one week.

  7. Spread the seeds evenly, by hand or with a mechanical spreader.

  8. Gently rake the seeds so they are slightly covered by soil.

  9. Apply a light layer of soil on top to aid germination and deter birds.

  10. Compact the soil by walking on it or using a lawn roller.

  11. Begin watering the area right away and keep it consistently moist until the lawn is fully grown.

  12. Failure to keep the seeded area moist can impede the growth process.

Renewing an Existing Lawn

  1. We advise using our Weed, Feed & Moss Killer for treatment.

  2. Wait for eight weeks after treatment before you reseed.

  3. Rake the lawn to remove dead grass, moss, and weeds.

  4. Keep raking until the soil is broken up and airy.

  5. Reseed the area following the recommended seeding rate, either manually or with a spreader.

  6. Make sure the seeds are lightly buried just below the soil with a rake.

  7. Top with a thin layer of soil to help with seed germination and to keep birds away.

  8. Firm up the soil by walking over it or using a roller.

  9. Water the lawn immediately and regularly to ensure proper establishment.

  10. Inconsistent watering of the reseeded area can lead to delayed growth.

After planting your grass seeds, our aim is to assist you in nurturing an ideal lawn. Here's a concise guide for the initial period after seeding.

  • It might take your lawn seeds about 6 to 8 weeks to become fully established.

  • Ensure to water your lawn thoroughly each day during this period.

  • Refrain from watering during ongoing rain to prevent over-saturation.

  • Persist with this routine until your lawn shows uniform growth.

  • When the grass height reaches between 3 to 4 inches, it's time for the first mowing.

  • Set your mower to its highest setting for the initial cut, trimming only the top inch.

  • Maintaining the health of your lawn is crucial. We suggest the regular application of our Seasonal Fertilizers to maintain a vibrant, healthy lawn free from weeds and diseases.
